Our Mission is to promote, educate and share our experiences with all who are interested in mining gemstones in the United States.
We will strive to provide a most excellent source of gemstones to you for your personal use.
When we arrived in Washington we were avid fisherpeople. As time went by we started finding Jasper and Agates and petrified wood on the shores of the Columbia River.
Soon we joined the Mt. Hood Rock Club and before we knew it we where hooked!
One day an older gentleman in a rock shop up in Liberty, WA asked me, "Why are you finding Jaspers, Agates and Petrified wood when you could be finding GEMSTONES?!!"
He proceeded to share with us many locations to find gemstones. Not too long after that, months or so, we saw a television program in 2002 about Cash for Treasures featuring an Opal mine in Nevada so off we went!! We found some wonderful Opal. While watching that show I thought, how cool: I would like to be on a show like that!
We dug for Opal in the Virgin Valley at the Royal Peacock Mine for a couple of years and one day we got rained out. We remembered the older gentleman telling us about gemstones. We had also been reading about a place in the Oregon high desert. This mine had rocks called Sunstone which is the Oregon State Gemstone So we decided to go there.
We love Sunstone and have been mining this gemstone for the last three summers.
In April of 2006 we made our "one second debut" as guests on...you guessed it "Cash for Treasures" while they filmed at the Spectrum mine.
We got to meet Becky Worley and the film crew as they taped the show for the Travel Channel at the Spectrum mine !!
We Love to dig for gemstones!!
There will always be a special place in our hearts for that older gentleman we had the Good Karma to meet at a rock shop in Liberty, WA.
